What We Do

The purpose of VolTech is to provide computer products and services as inexpensively as possible to the students, staff, faculty, and departments of The University of Tennessee. We have over 10,000 computer products available, including academically priced hardware from Apple, Dell, Lenovo Thinkpad, Sony, Samsung, and printers and scanners from HP, Canon, & Epson. As an Authorized Apple Campus Store, we carry a full line of Apple computers and provide service for both in-warranty and out of warranty computers. We are also SafeWare authorized, so we can fix accidental damage to Apple computers covered by a SafeWare Policy. For more information on SafeWare contact us at [email protected].

At our Service Center, we can also work on Windows based PCs installing RAM & hard drives, and do system backups and minor repairs. Our Partnership with PCS computers allows for warranty and non warranty service to be facilitated from our store. Just call PCS at 273-1960 and make arrangements then drop your computer at the store and go on to class.  PCS will pick it up, repair it, and return it to the store at the Student Union, for pickup at your convenience. If you purchased a Dell from us with onsite service, call Dell and tell them you want service at our location, drop your computer off and we do the rest.

Who We Are

VolTech is a part of the Volshop and our surplus revenues help support the operation of the Knoxville Campus. Most of our employees are also students, so they have a very good idea of what a student's computing needs are. Our staff is knowledgeable in both Apple and Windows platforms, earn no commission, and have no incentives to recommend a specific manufacturer or size of system.

Getting What You Need

The easiest way to get your new computer and all the software you need is to visit the store while you are on campus. Bring your UT ID card to us in the VolTech store and we'll assist you in selecting the best computer to meet your needs. If we don't have what you need in stock, we can order it.
